This story is part of The Street of Crocodiles and was translated from Polish by Celina Wieniewska in 1963. The Street of Crocodiles is a place ...'of memories and dreams where recollections of Bruno Schulz's uncommon boyhood ... are evoked in a startling blend of the real and the fantastic.'¹
